Our Journey
· 2008
Jinhan Dance Academy was established, becoming one of Melbourne’s early professional institutions dedicated to structured Chinese dance education.
· 2020
Mulan Performing Arts Academy was founded as a branch campus of Jinhan Dance Academy.
· 2025
The academy relocated from Cheltenham to Highett, continuing its commitment to dance education in Melbourne’s Bayside area
Our Achievements
Over nearly two decades, we have trained many outstanding dance students. Our students have received Gold and Silver Awards at major competitions, including:
· Australian International Youth Talent Competition
· International Taoli Cup (USA)
· Phoenix Cup Dance Competition (Hong Kong)
· Melbourne International Dance Competition
Today, some of our graduates perform internationally, while others continue to participate in school and community performances or pursue dance as a lifelong artistic practice.
Performances & Partnerships
The academy regularly presents high-quality dance performances for the City of Bayside and other local councils, and contributes to major cultural events such as the Melbourne Chinese New Year Gala and various arts festivals.
Through original choreography and consistent artistic presentation, we have established a strong professional reputation and are recognised as a trusted arts partner within Melbourne’s performing arts community.

With a professional background spanning dance education, movement science, and performing arts leadership, Mulan is dedicated to creating a safe, structured, and inspiring environment where students grow with strength, grace, and confidence.
Mulan began her dance training at the age of six and later studied Chinese Ethnic Dance and Broadcasting & Hosting at Southwest Minzu University. She subsequently served in the military as a nurse, while also working as a dance and drama performer with the military performing arts troupe and as a broadcaster for the military television station.
In 2015, Mulan relocated to Australia, where she has been teaching dance to local communities. She later joined Jinhan Dance Academy, teaching both children’s and adult dance programs, and continues to contribute to dance education and arts leadership within the academy.
